Sometimes a tooth is so damaged and weak that a crown is required which fits over the whole of the tooth. A crown can also cover too small or misshapen teeth as well as badly discoloured teeth which can’t be improved by cleaning or whitening.
The tooth is prepared by shaping (2) and an impression taken. The impression together with instructions on
tooth colour is sent to the dental laboratory where the crown is hand-crafted. The crown is then bonded into place by your dentist (3).
